According to Deloitte research "Digital Collaboration", deploying digital workspaces and collaboration tools can increase employee satisfaction and productivity by up to 20% [1]. The emergence of new technologies, such as 5G and cloud computing, offers more flexibility and connectedness. Future innovations, including 6G and satellite services, will enable us to work even smarter everywhere.
All great developments, but we also see that IT managers are increasingly including the well-being of their colleagues in the choices that are made. Work-life balance, diversity and different generations are taken into account. For instance, Gartner points out the importance of paying attention to the younger generation, Gen Z, who are entering the digital workplace with new expectations and values. [2] Ways to boost job satisfaction are being sought through screenless days, turning off notifications after 6pm or limiting e-mail traffic to regular working hours. When drawing up the IT roadmap, job happiness will be a key issue.
IT can therefore play an important role not only in working more efficiently, but also in promoting job happiness and finding a work-life balance. The question is how this can be organised. Is it a negotiable topic? What is the IT manager's role in this? Is it part of the strategy? To answer these questions, Odido is conducting an exploratory benchmark study among leading organisations. The central question here is: "How can an IT strategy contribute to job happiness within an organisation?"
Participation in this survey provides insights into IT leaders' approaches around these issues and shows how they compare with other organisations.
